Triple D Machine built this Tungsten and Glass Filled PPO component on a CNC machine for a client in the defense industry. We turned, drilled and bored the component. These procedures were followed by a three operation CNC milling process during which we drilled, bored, countersunk and tapped four #0-80 holes that met a tolerance of ±.002".
After a thorough testing process that included the use of an optical comparator, a coordinate measurement machine and a micro-height gage, we shipped the tungsten and PPO night vision device components to the client in Texas.To learn more about this project, please see the details below.
