Triple D Machine built 300-500 stainless steel FID fittings on a CNC machine for a client in the oil and gas industry. The process of turning the fittings included four turning operations, drilling and boring, forming of the internal thread and cutting grooves. Milling the 2.3" long fittings entailed four milling operations, drilling and taping of the bolt pattern and finally, drilling holes which were 2.3" long and measured .217" in diameter.
After a thorough testing process, which included the use of an optical comparator and a coordinate measurement machine, we shipped the 316 stainless steel FID fittings to the client's Oklahoma location.
